Chili Party scheduled for Nov. 15

The annual Michigan Press Photographers Association Chili Party will be held on Sunday, November 15 at 1 p.m. in room 454 of Moore Hall on the Central Michigan University campus. This year’s speaker is Kathy Kieliszewski, Deputy Director of Photo and Video at the Detroit Free Press. She will be speaking about the paper’s efforts in video and about their recent National Emmy win. Festivities begin at 1 p.m. with chili tasting. Kathy will speak at 1:30 p.m. Portfolio critiques for students will also be available.

Kathy Kieliszewski Kathy Kieliszewski is a four-time National Emmy Award winning multimedia producer. After ten years as a newspaper photographer, she was hired as a picture editor at the Detroit Free Press in 2003 and then transitioned into video editing and producing in 2005. She is currently the Deputy Director of Photo and Video at the Free Press where she oversees video and multimedia. She is graduate of Michigan State University and has been honored with numerous picture editing awards including Michigan Picture Editor of the Year. She lives in Grosse Pointe Park, MI with her husband, two boys and a dog named Sherman.
