Sue Morrow
Deputy Director of Photography

A graduate of Indiana University School of Journalism, the last 20 years has allowed me to work with some of the finest talent in journalism. I was a features designer at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution before joining the San Jose Mercury News as the photo assignments editor. I was also a features picture editor, assistant art director and features design director. In 1999, I joined the St. Petersburg Times as AME/Photography and also taught at The Poynter Institute for Media Studies. The Times’ photo staff won numerous photography and editing awards in POYi and SND, including winning Picture Editing Team Portfolio in POYi. In 2005, I became the deputy director of photography at the Sacramento Bee. I edited and designed “A Mother’s Journey” by Renee C. Byer, which won the 2007 Pulitzer Prize in feature photography and the World Understanding Award in POYi. The series was also recognized for editing in POYi, BOP and SND. Diving into multimedia storytelling, I have produced several online stories for sacbee.com.

I share my life with my partner, Michael Rondou and our most-perfect dog, Roxie.
