Comments:
First place of a hearse in a cornfield is shot from a vantage point that added mood and poignancy.
Second place was a touching photo of National Guardsmen carrying a casket that included a pilot in the background holding his hand to his heart, adding a more complete vision to the scene.
Third was a good response to breaking news during a water rescue.

First’s slide back to first had a cloud of dust, good expression, and peak action.
Second’s jubilation in softball, had a defining moment with good composition.
Third’s cute hockey kid had a nice expression and body language.

Comments:
First has a wonderful moment from a swing dance that is well composed and fun.
Second intrigued us with a mysterious arm in a tree that gave a pretty straight forward shot a different touch.
Third place expands on a typical fireworks display feature by providing silhouettes in a composition that gave us more.

Comments:
First place was a rich diversity of images that captured the sights, sounds, and even smells to some extent of a concert experience.
Second place gave us a nostalgic slice of life look at a local barber shop, complete with moments and timeless documentation.
Third had images that played off of each other nicely, and covered the experience of a county fair from details to overalls in a consistent flow.
