Winning entry is very poignant and touching, really captured the moment. Second place entry caught the drama of the van wreck, a very well-composed shot of the scene. The third place entry was a little bit whimsical — the fireman’s legs sticking out the window —but still a good news shot.

Winning entry is a real attention – grabber, you can’t not study this photo. It has many elements, all are dwarfed by the man in trouble. Great shot. Second place entry: rugby in the rain is a good, tight, action shot showing the intensity of the athletes. This place winner: portrait shot of athlete pumping iron, nicely lit, like posing him with the busted mirror.

Winning entry was unanimous, it really popped out from the rest. Scene is unexpected and funny, the two dogs looking away while kid plays with her dog, really caught the moment, well-cropped. Second placer was a really nice “grab” shot, cute, funny, clever. Third place: those clouds were so dynamic, unusual we kept coming back to it. Nice composition

Winning entry had many fine pictures, laid out well, told the story excellent. Really makes you feel for the little guy. Terrific photo spread. Second place entry chronicles a feel-good story with candid shots of the elderly couple on their big day, very nice selection of photos. Third place: a good, solid photo story that just clicked with the judges.
